Privacy Policy

Effective November 5, 2026 · written for US users, including California (CCPA/CPRA) and children’s privacy (COPPA)

This policy explains what personal information Afina.ai collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how you can exercise your rights. We wrote it in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, contact us at the address at the end of this page.

1. Who we are

Afina.ai (“we”, “us”) is a vocal pitch training app available at afinavoice.com. Contact: hello@afinavoice.com.

2. What we collect

• Account: name, optional stage name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash) or your Google sign-in, city, state and, if you choose, a phone number.
• Practice data: stages played, scores, stars, coins, streaks, vocal range and pitch statistics (for example, whether you tend to sing sharp or flat).
• Purchases: plan, purchase date and amount. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
• Technical data: device and browser type, IP address (for security and abuse prevention) and notification subscription tokens if you enable push notifications.
• Marketing measurement: if you visit our pages, the Meta Pixel may record page views and checkout clicks so we can measure our ads.

3. Your voice and the microphone

The app uses your microphone only while an exercise, tuner or studio screen is open. Your voice is analyzed on your device to detect pitch. We do not upload or keep recordings of your voice. Songs and recordings you open in My Studio stay on your device.

4. How we use it

• To run the app: your account, progress, scores and the leaderboard.
• To unlock and manage your annual plan and process refunds.
• To send practice reminders and tips by email and push notification, if you agreed. You can turn them off anytime.
• To let your voice teacher follow your progress, if you joined through their link or typed their code.
• To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and fix bugs.

5. National leaderboard

If you opt in, your stage name (or first name), city, state, photo in the helmet and progress may appear on the leaderboard and on our website. You can leave the leaderboard anytime in Me › My data and privacy.

6. Children

Afina.ai is not directed to children under 13, and you must be 13 or older to create an account. Users between 13 and 17 need a parent or guardian’s permission. If we learn we collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete it. Parents can contact us at the address below.

7. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, except for the Meta Pixel measurement described above, which you can opt out of (section 11). We use service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Stripe (payments), Google (optional sign-in), our email delivery provider, browser push services (Google, Apple, Mozilla, Microsoft) and our hosting provider.
• Your voice teacher, only if you linked to them: name, progress, range and pitch statistics. Never your email or payment details.
• Authorities, when required by law.

8. Storage on your device

The app stores your progress, settings and photo in your browser’s local storage so it works offline and loads fast. We don’t use third-party advertising cookies inside the app.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except purchase records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes.

10. Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, access to the database is restricted and we monitor for abuse. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

11. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live in the US, you can:

• Access and download your data: Me › My data and privacy › Download my data.
• Correct your data in the same screen.
• Delete your account and data: Me › Delete my account.
• Opt out of marketing: uncheck “Receive tips and news”, or click “Unsubscribe” in any email.
• Opt out of ad measurement: use your browser’s tracking protection or email us; we also honor Global Privacy Control signals.

California residents have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale/sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for using these rights. You can use the in-app tools above or email us. We will verify your request using your account email and respond within 45 days.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
